Ingredients

1 cup of Lentils

1 Potato

1 Carrot

1 Medium chayote

½ cup of Chopped onion

¼ cup of Chopped sweet pepper

¼ cup of Celery

3 Crushed garlic cloves

5 cups of Water

2 tablespoons of Margarine

1 teaspoon of Curry

1 pinch of Salt

1 pinch of Pepper

Preparation

Step 1 : Lentils are soaked for about three hours, washed, and drained.

Step 2 : Then they are cooked in water with a touch of salt and garlic.

Step 3 : Once the lentils are soft, add the potatoes, carrots, and chayotes cut into cubes, and cook until tender.

Step 4 : In a separate skillet, melt the butter and sauté the onion, garlic, sweet pepper, and celery.

Step 5 : Season with salt, pepper, and curry.

Step 6 : Next, add this sauté to the lentil soup and adjust the flavor.

Step 7 : Finally, serve piping hot.
