Ingredients

500 grams of Flour

500 grams of Ground meat

3 Onions

2 Panamanian chilies

1 Sweet bell pepper

1 Celery stalk

250 grams of Lard

1 tablespoon of Thyme

½ cup of Bread soaked in milk

Annatto oil

1 pinch of Salt

1 pinch of Pepper

Preparation

Step 1 : In a bowl, place the flour with the lard and salt, and knead with water until you get a dough that does not stick to your hands.

Step 2 : Then, place the dough on a table and roll it out thinly with a rolling pin.

Step 3 : Next, cut out rounds with a cutter.

Step 4 : In a skillet, heat a little annatto oil and stir-fry onions, bell pepper, sweet pepper, and thyme.

Step 5 : Add the meat and sauté for 10 minutes, seasoning with salt and pepper.

Step 6 : Then, add the Panamanian chili and bread soaked in milk, stir well, and let it cool.

Step 7 : To assemble the empanadas, take the dough rounds, fill with the meat mixture, and shape them.

Step 8 : Then, place the empanadas on a baking sheet and bake until golden brown.
