The fig, a noble fruit of nature, becomes a delicacy in syrup or honey. Once prepared, its flavor becomes irresistible, perfect for accompanying desserts or enjoying on their own. A typical Costa Rican recipe that you must try.
Once the figs have been harvested, they must be properly washed to remove the latex that covers them.
After a while, they are partially peeled, leaving some skin, and cut in a cross shape.
Cook slowly in water for two hours until they change color, adding sugar and cinnamon to taste.
Once cooled, roll them in sugar to enhance their presentation and store them in a sterilized glass jar.
